Inspiration: 7:2010

The dog days of summer are upon some of us, but we in LA are still waiting patiently for that ragged heat and stifling stillness. In the meantime, I haven't forgotten about the rest of the world who still manages to look turned out even whilst swimming through soul-dampening humidity. I tip my hat to you, Rest Of World.

White Out

Loving the white-on-white look this summer. Though this begs the question, if denim-on-denim is otherwise known as a Texas Tuxedo, then could white-on-white be considered a Hamptons Tuxedo? Inquiring minds want to know.

Because Jet Lag Is My Only Companion

...at 5 o'clock in the morning.

Back from a whirlwind couple of weeks in France and the UK. I can't even begin to describe the deluge of photos that await you. A tsunami of photos await you. A category 5 hurricane of photos await you. A maelstrom of photos await you. And, incidentally, a tempestuous storm of editing awaits me, but if I keep up this wake-up-at-4:30-fresh-as-a-frickin'-daisy routine, then I just might knock them out with very little griping. In the meantime, I was in Europe! And here's proof!

Biarritz, France

Paris, France (and a big thanks to Quail, J.Holden Designs, and Puja for making it possible to look awesome while in Paris. See those bracelets? Jonathan Holden, friends, is a genius. Don't even get me started on the Quail florette vest or that Puja necklace.)

Capbreton, France

Capbreton, France (those are WWII bunkers in the background...cool, huh?)

P.S. All these photos were snapped by the lovely Beth Jones, and all I'll say about that, friends, is brace yourselves, because I took so many photos of that girl, it would take an entire hard drive to contain her totally bitchin' bitchinness (bitchin-nnn-ness, not bitch-i-ness, let's just make that clear). So if you think this is something, then just wait, because it only gets better from here on out.

Pavement via Loose Luggage

Do you think God picks the sensitive ones? I'm not so sure God picks the sensitive o-o-ones!

How amazing and refreshing to come back from Europe to this video posted by Adam over at his blog. It's a teaser, if you will, for what's to come with the impending Fauxchella documentary. I'm so proud of these folks, and I'm privileged to call them my friends.

Europe Sneak Peek: Biarritz

I'm sitting in a private beach house in Hossegor, France on a borrowed computer with a European keyboard (trés complicated), but I couldn't resist giving you all a sneak peek of what I've been up to. Much more to come when I return Stateside. In the meantime, I'm London-bound with Mizzus B. Jones. Check out her blog as well as the Quiksilver Women's blog to see more from our travels.

EAT. yourbestfriends

My latest column is up over at EAT. Your Best Friends. Why didn't I post about this sooner, you might be wondering, since it's now Monday evening and the column, titled Your Gal Friday, went live on Friday (naturally). (Or is there a question mark in there somewhere? For good measure: ?) Well, in case you're European, Canadian, Latin American, ETC-ican, or born under a rock, it was 4th of July Weekend, so to be quite succinct: I was stuffing my face with watermelon for four days.

SO! Check it out now, if you haven't already. Welcome back from the long weekend, friends.
