I've had this page open for about two hours already and every time I approach the keyboard to make a few strokes toward a post that would take its eventual shape as informative, thoughtful, witty, or merely unhinged, I navigate away before I get the chance. Such is life, I suppose. There are ebbs and flows with all kinds of creativity, and right now my tide is way, way out. So far out, in fact, that all the urchins and anemones have all but dried up and what's left are a few craggy rocks bearing a couple of mussels and a discarded old shoe.
Apt metaphors from a girl who spent the previous afternoon at a beach near my house that was (also aptly) called Mother's Beach. Every few minutes, a lifeguard would intone over the loudspeaker that a mother had lost her child. And so the Ethans and Angels and Jessicas would set up camp near the lifeguard stand for a few minutes until their (suspiciously) unhurried parent ambled to the rescue. I'd say it was entertaining, but how entertaining is it really to watch a woman at the shore hollering, "I have a baby over here. Did any of y'all lose a baby? Because she's right HERE"?
Okay, that's pretty entertaining.
(Neglectful) Mother's Beach aside, the past couple of weeks have been filled with ebbs and flows as well. Personally, professionally. I just returned from a photo shoot that will probably exist in the hallowed archive of Best Shoots Ever, Forever And Ever, Amen. Photos forthcoming, of course. My computer was down for a week. We had a housewarming party. In between all of that, I've been working, reading, hanging out...living life, I suppose, and not in a very digitally-friendly way.
Having said that, here are a few shots from our housewarming party last weekend. It, as with all things lately, ebbed and flowed and then kept on flowing until the house was packed with party goers and my brain fried from extroversion. These are a few of the shots before things got cah-razy.
Oh, heyyyy, roomie...
Hey again, other roomie!
